SPRING BUYING IS HITTING EARLY!
The numbers are in and it looks like the buying season has hit early in 2017. As of February 1st, 2017 listings are up 2.9% and sales prices are up 5.3% from December 2016. Pending or under contract listings are up 4.9%.
What does this mean for buyer? If you are looking to buy in 2017 now is the time to make that move, with interest rates leveling out now is the time to lock in a solid rate. Predictions say rates will rise again going into summer 2017 but will still remain lower than normal. Competition is still high with a market that remains more bare than usual, getting out and looking with intention will allow you to get the home you fall in love with. Keep in mind, the home you loved today and want to sleep on is the home someone loved yesterday and slept on…they will beat you to it if you’re not looking with intention.
What does this mean for sellers? The market is still bare so your home will stand out, price it right, make it look good and it will sale. Sales prices have continued to grow and grow, values are up! Get your home on the market before everyone else does and your competition will be less.
