Yvonne Van Camp

Yvonne Burdette-Van Camp feels blessed to have grown up with a loving family that is as close as a family can be. Her entire family danced and performed together all over the world for many years. It meant that each and every day they were together, enjoying each other, supporting each other, and they prayed together every night. They celebrated each accomplishment along the way as the Burdette family built a fine reputation for their performances. Each member of the family looked out for the other members so that as they faced challenges everyone was involved in the solution of the problem. It wasn’t just about tapping their toes or the steps to the dances they performed but it was the importance of those steps that led to keeping the family together. They appeared on the Bob-O-Links and showcased their talents in many other venues. They also learned what to do when something unexpected would happen. It was instilled in Yvonne that character is what you do when no one is looking. The mindset was that the show must go on and so they all filled in to adapt to whatever had to be done to perform no matter the circumstance. These lessons have helped Yvonne to be a success at whatever she set out to do throughout her life. She refuses to give up on a goal she sets and the hard work it takes to achieve those goals.

After many years of performing, it was time for Yvonne to move forward pursuing an education. So in 1987 she graduated from what was then Southwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science. Her studies emphasized marketing, and public relations which were a natural interest for her with her prior life experiences.

After graduating she began her post college work life as a Human Resource Director, helping two hundred and fifty employees and giving help to the management staff to resolve staff issues. She became convinced that no machines, or any type of equipment make the difference in the success of a business; it is people that make the difference. That love of people led her to take a job in the office of a top real estate agent. That experience opened the door for her understanding of how a career as a realtor in Springfield, MO and the surrounding areas would allow her to do the things she loved most in making a difference in the lives of those she meets.
