I have a big hack for you today when it comes to saving money and being more eco-friendly when it comes to those home renovations. When saving money and saving the ecosystem coincide, that is a big win in my eyes, AND to be able to accomplish both of these while making improvements to your home is another big plus. Here's how you can make this a reality in Springfield MO!
Have you heard of the Habitat for Humanity Restore? If you haven't, now is the time to take a look and give them a visit. Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization with a belief that every person deserves a safe and affordable place to call home. They help improve or build around 107 homes each year to help provide stability through shelter to those in need.
Let's talk about the Restore. The Restore is their location that you can donate items to be sold to the community. So how does this save you money on renovations? Many people donate unused construction materials, appliances and other home materials. When building these homes for those in need, some supplies can go unused. Some of these items include trim, cabinets, doors, counter tops, etc. This is such a great place to check for supplies for your next project.
To make an impact, make sure to take your unused items and donate them to the Restore to give back. It's a big circle to help the community.
